Demian Maia vs. Matt Brown added to May 14th card in Brazil

An exciting welterweight fight has been added to the May 14th card in Brazil as Damian Maia will take on Matt Brown at 170 lbs. The UFC announced the bout on Wednesday evening.

Maia (22-6 MMA) has won his last 4 fights. Two decision wins over Alexander Yakovlev and Ryan LaFlare was followed two grappling clinics. A submission win over Neil Magny at UFC 190 was followed up by an impressive unanimous decision win over Gunnar Nelson at UFC 194.

Following a two fight losing streak to current champion Robbie Lawler and former champion Johny Hendicks, Matt Brown (20-13 MMA) earned an impressive submission win over Tim Means at UFC 189. He was scheduled to fight Kelvin Gastelum at the TUF Latin America 2 Finale last November, but was forced out of the contest with an ankle injury.

The main event of UFC Fight Night 87 in Brazil is a middleweight showdown betweenVitor Belfort and Jacare Souza. A location for the card has not yet been announced.
