No. 5 ranked Tony Ferguson meets No. 7 ranked Michael Johnson at UFC 197

No. 5  ranked Tony Ferguson puts his seven-fight win streak on the line when he takes on No. 7 ranked Michael Johnson in a lightweight clash at UFC 197 on March 5 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. This is a rematch of the UFC on FOX 3 clash in 2012 where Johnson defeated Ferguson via unanimous decision. This was Ferguson’s last professional loss. The UFC announced the bout on Thursday evening.

UFC 197: dos Anjos vs. McGregor will be held on March 5, 2016 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event at UFC 197 features Rafael dos Anjos putting his lightweight belt on the line against featherweight champion Conor McGregor. The co-main event will see Holly Holm, fresh off her stunning head-kick knockout of Ronda Rousey in November, making her first bantamweight title defence against Miesha Tate.

Ferguson (21-3 MMA) is coming off an impressive second-round submission via D’Arce choke over Edson Barboza last month that earned him his third straight ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus. It also earn ‘El Cucuy’ Fight of the Night honours

Johnson (17-10 MMA) is coming off two decision losses to Nate Diaz and Edson Barboza.  The loss to Diaz however earned Johnson an addition $50K as the bout was awarded ‘Fight of the Night’
