UFC 196 || Fight card order finalised; Benavidez vs. Makovsky kicks off the PPV card

UFC 196: Werdum vs. Velasquez 2 will be held on February 6, 2016 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The event is expected to be headlined by a UFC Heavyweight Championship rematch between current champion Fabrício Werdum and former UFC champion Cain Velasquez.

The former interim title holder, Werdum (20-5-1 MMA), who became the undisputed champion after defeating Velasquez at UFC 188, will put his belt on the line when the two meet again in the fight capital of the world. A three-time Brazilian jiu jitsu world champion, Werdum possess one of the most threatening ground attacks in the sport, and he owns submission victories over two of the most revered athletes in the heavyweight division has seen in Fedor Emelianenko and Velasquez.

The co-main event features a welterweight contest between former champion Johny Hendricks and Stephen Thompson.

The fight card lineup has now been set with Joseph Benavidez vs. Zach Makovsky kicking off the main card whilst Josh Burkman vs. K.J. Noons will headline the preliminary card on Fox Sports 1.
