A lightweight bout between Jake Matthews and Johnny Case is being targeted for UFC Fight Night 84 per Combat Press, however the UFC have yet to officially announce the contest.
UFC Fight Night 84 will be held on March 20, 2016 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Australia. The event will be the second that the promotion will host in Brisbane, the first being UFC Fight Night 33 in December of 2013.
Matthews (9-1 MMA) rebounded nicely following the first loss of his pro career to James Vick at UFC Fight Night 65 by a come from behind win over Akbarh Arreola at UFC 193 in December. Matthews is currently 3-1 under the ZUFFA banner.
Case (22-4 MMA) is riding an impressive 12 fight winning streak with four of those wins coming inside the octagon. A submission win over Kazuki Tokudome and a TKO win over Frankie Perez has been followed up by two unanimous decision wins over Francisco Trevino and Yan Cabral.
