[Breaking] Jacare Souza vs. Vitor Belfort anounced for Saturday May 14th in Brazil

Jacare Souza vs. Vitor Belfort has been announced for Saturday May 14th in Brazil. The UFC announced the match-up following an initial report from Combate’s Ana Hissa. No venue or event has yet been announced.

Souza (22-4-1 MMA) is coming off a very close split decision loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 194 in December, however on January 13, 2016 Romero was informed of a potential doping violation stemming from an out of competition test conducted by USADA. No more information has been revealed about the violation at this time.

Belfort (25-11 MMA) rebounded from a brutal middleweight title fight loss to former champion Chris Weidman with an impressive first round KO win over Dan Henderson in Brazil on November 7, 2015. Belfort earned a post fight ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus for his efforts.
