The California-based promotion will travel to the Pala Alpitour in Torino, Italy, on April 16 for an event to be co-promoted with Italian Organization Oktagon Kickboxing. Much like Bellator “Dynamite,” the card will feature both mixed martial arts and kickboxing bouts. According to a release, only the Bellator fights will air in the United States on Spike TV.
Former UFC fighter Sakara (17-11 MMA) was cut by the promotion following a four fight losing streak which included losses to Chris Weidman, Brian Stann and Patrick Cote. Following his axe from the UFC, Sakara was signed to FFC where he would fight Maciej Browarski to a no-contest in December 2014. Without a win in 5 professional fights, Sakara earned his first victory in 5 years with a first round KO win over Dib Akil at FFC 19 in September.
Rogers (12-8 MMA) is coming off a win over Virgil Zwicker at Bellator 147 following two straight losses to Rafael Carvalho and Joey Beltran at Bellator 125 and Bellator 136 respectively.
No other bouts have been announced for Bellator’s first adventure out of the United States however expect more announcements in the coming weeks.Check out our latest podcast episode featuring Robbie Fox of Barstool Sports.
