Las Vegas, Nevada: Drew Dober mixed things up effectively to overwhelm his opponent Scott Holtzman, earning a unanimous decision at UFC 195.
UFC 195 took place on January 2, 2016 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Drew Dober vs. Scott Holtzman took place on the preliminary card which aired on Fox Sports 1 in the United States and BT Sport in the UK.
Round 1: Dober lands a nice straight left early on, forcing Holtzman to briefly back up. Holtzman lands a body kick and jumps forward with a left-right combination, forcing Dober against the cage. Dober reverses the situation and lands a short elbow, but Holtzman regains the advantage shortly thereafter and lands an elbow of his own. Surprisingly, Dober pushes out of the clinch and lands a pair of takedowns. Holtzman is attacking with some nice elbows off his back and gets back to his feet quickly. One minute left in the first, both men are on their feet, with Dober landing some good strikes to close the action.
Round 2: Dober immediately shoots for a takedown, but cannot follow through and Holtzman establishes a temporary cage-clinch. Dober rocks ‘Hot Sauce’ with a strong left, and once again shoots for a takedown. Holtzman is having trouble finding his rhythm early on, as Dober is switching effectively between takedown attempts and elbow strikes. Half way through the fight, Holtzman secures a takedown and the grappling battle ensues. Dober manages to get back to his feet with one minute remaining. However, thirty seconds later and Holtzman is back on top, landing ground and pound to secure the second round.

Round 3: Dober starts off strong, landing a nice combination and hitting a takedown. Holtzman gets back to his feet, but the men are fighting for position against the cage, with Holtzman starting to fade. Dober manages to fall back into top position, landing some decent ground strikes. Holtzman is battered and bloodied; with two minutes remaining he manages to get back to his feet. Herb Dean briefly calls the action to investigate a cut on Holtzman. With the final minute counting down, Dober shoots for another takedown and Holtzman lands a few elbows in retaliation.
