Orlando, FL- It took some time to find his range, but once he did, Nate “The Great” Marquardt left C.B. Dolloway laid out on the canvas.
UFC on Fox 17 took place December 19, 2015 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fl. Nate Marquardt vs C.B. Dolloway was contested on the preliminary portion of the event.
Dolloway quickly took the center of the cage , but was forced out as Marquardt advanced. Both looked to be wanting to fight from the outside in the early moments and came off a little tentative until Dolloway landed a couple of decent kicks. Still, neither man seemed to want to be the first to engage. Dolloway showed a lot of feints, but no punches were following them, only kicks. Marquardt kept pawing with a jab, but was never close to being in range. Finally, Dolloway rushed in and landed a hard left hand that stumbled Marquardt for a moment. Nate recovered quickly, though, and didn’t seem to be in any trouble. The next time Dolloway came in, Marquardt tagged him with a good overhand right before stopping a takedown attempt. The round ended with a tiny amount of action shortly thereafter.
Dolloway was the aggressor to start the 2nd, but it ended up backfiring for the “Doberman.” He pushed Nate back against the cage, but ate a huge right hand counter that sent him crashing to the mat. Nate” The Great” Marquardt had knocked him out cold.
The finish came at 0:28 of Round 2.
The win snaps a two-fight skid for Marquardt and improves his record to 34-15-2 overall. C.B. Dolloway falls 15-8 and has lost 3 in a row inside the Octagon.
