Las Vegas, NV | With the official scores coming in at 29-28 Wrzosek, 29-28 Erosa, and 29-28 Erosa, “Juicy J” edged his opponent to win tonight at the TUF 22 Finale.
The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale will be held on December 11, 2015 at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada. Julian Erosa vs. Marcin Wrzosek took place on the main card which aired on Fox Sports 1.
Wrzosek opened the first round with crisp combinations, catching Erosa off guard early. The European prospect held Erosa against the cage in between combinations. Despite his efforts, Erosa reversed the clinch several times and made establishing an offense difficult. A takedown attempt by Wrzosek is reversed at the two minute mark and Erosa is threatening with submissions against the cage. Wrzosek pops out and the compelling round ends with more clinching and knee strikes from the pair.
Wrzosek landed a good takedown early into the second, but had little to show for it before Erosa reversed the situation. Standing up, “Juicy J” went back to the cage clinch, looking for an opportunity to strike. Half way through the fight, Wrzosek is looking for more takedowns but Erosa is still managing to keep control against the cage. Both men separate briefly, and Wrzosek lands another takedown, this time solidifying control over the fight. As the round winds down, Wrzosek backs up and sets up some jabs and straight punches. Another takedown lands right just as time runs out.
The third frame opens with Erosa throwing heavy left, right combinations but a left low kick lands south of the equator and the fight is briefly timed out. Erosa landed a pair of takedowns and some noteworthy strikes, most likely taking the round. Wrzosek showed good control throughout the third, and although absorbing a heavy knee with a minute remaining, had most likely lost his control over the bout.
Taking his first UFC victory, Julian Erosa advances to 15-3 as Marcin Wrzosek falls to 10-3.
