Las Vegas, NV | Sterling steps into a tight guillotine, finishing things in the second.
UFC Fight Night 80 will be held on December 10, 2015 at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Aljamain Sterling vs. Johnny Eduardo took place on the preliminary card which aired on UFC Fight Pass.
Lots of promise out of Sterling and it’s clear why. Flashy style, big personality, prestigious camp. Sterling begins the round with a lot of footwork, as he circles around a stationary Eduardo who’s controlling the center of the cage. A successful takedown from Sterling allows us to hear that famous Matt Serra corner talk. Can’t get enough of that stuff…
Eduardo survives the first round without taking much damage, but Sterling should take it on the scorecards.
For all the variety thrown by Sterling, Eduardo is sticking to the old tried and true; that signature leg kick. All said and done, it’s pretty even in the stand-up exchanges, but another mid-round takedown should be enough to steal another round away from Eduardo. But we’ll never know! Sterling sees an opportunity and locks in a guillotine.
As soon as he’s in position, Sterling steps into full mount and finishes the fight.
With the win, Sterling improves to 12-0. He’s won four inside the Octagon, finishing his last three in a row. Eduardo falls to 27-10 with the loss.
Official Result – Aljamain Sterling def. Johnny Eduardo via guillotine choke RD.2, 4:18
