Seoul, South Korea: Seo Hee Ham entertained fans and captured a unanimous decision victory against her opponent Cortney Casey.
UFC Fight Night 79 was held on November 28, 2015 at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul, South Korea. The event will be the first that the organisation will have hosted in South Korea. Seo Hee Ham vs. Cortney Casey took place on the preliminary portion of the card that aired on UFC Fight Pass.
Ham & Casey initiated each other with exchanges early on. Ham took the center of the cage, absorbing counter shots from Casey throughout the early minutes. With the reach advantage, Casey controlled most of the striking, landing a strong headkick at the two minute mark and forcing Ham to look for openings. The entertaining first round ends with Casey and Ham trading big combinations against the fence.

More of the same in the second round, with the women taking turns landing strikes. After a brief timeout due to an eye-poke, the fight resumed with Casey circling and controlling the rhythm of her opponent. However, Ham continued to pursue and cut off the angles of Casey. The round was once again brought to a timeout due to an unintentional low blow. The remainder of the round saw Ham’s aggression gradually increase, ending with exciting brawler literally chasing down Casey.
Casey’s precision, endurance and counter shots slowed down in the third; Ham’s pressure becoming almost overwhelming. The crowd was very pleased with the performance of both athletes. Ham’s brawling style was certainly an asset in this match against Casey.
