Phoenix, Arizona: Luis Palomino came back from a smothering first round and TKOed Rich Patishnock with just seconds left before the bell (4:55).
WSOF 25 took place Friday, November 20th at the Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona. The events main draw was an 8-man lightweight elimination tournament. Palomino vs. Patishnock was a quarterfinal feature of the tournament, live on NBCSN.
Patishnock opens up as the agressor, stalking Palomino with range-finding kicks. He shoots for a takedown and Palomino defends brilliantly against the cage. Palomino changes levels and throws a hard knee which lands south of the equator. After a brief timeout, the fght resumes with Patishnock pressing his opponent against the cage once more. Patishnock shoots for a takedown half way into the first round and more cage-clincing takes place. With this gameplan, Palomino’s offense is being completely nullified. The ref seperates both men and with thirty seconds left, Palomino is finally starting to land some knees and combinations. He sends Patishnock crashing to the floor. The match is called off with only five seconds left in the round.
As a professional Luis Palomino is now 24-11 in MMA. His opponent Rich Patishnock now sits at 6-3.
