Thackerville, OK- Stephen Banasak was nearly finished early by George Pacurariu, but survived long enough to latch onto and finish with a tight guillotine choke in the 1st round.
Pacurariu came out strong and blasted Banasak with a heavy blow that sent him crashing to the mat. He moved in but was unable to get the finish, which allowed Banasak to return to his feet and begin to recover. Eventually Banasak found himself in top position and grabbed a hold of a guillotine. After moving to guard and locking in a body triangle, Banasak continued to squeeze the choke, eventually forcing his opponent to relent before the end of the opening round.
Banasak is now 4-5 after the comeback victory. George Pacurariu slips to 10-5 after the defeat.Check out our latest podcast episode featuring Adam Milstead & Dinis "Sweetbread" Paiva
