Thackerville, OK- Melvin Manhoef lived up to his reputation at Bellator 146 by ending Hisaki Kato’s night in the 1st Round.
Bellator 146: Kato vs. Manhoef will take place November 20, 2015 at the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma. The event will air live in prime time on Spike TV.
The first 45 seconds didn’t see a sigle blow landed as both men were quite aware of the each others power. Kato finally landed a hard body kick and the battle was on for a moment. Things calmed down at the 3-minute makr and both fighters went back to circling. Manhoef was the one baking up at this point, but not by much. A high kick initiated another violent exchange that saw Manhoef get a little wobbly, but Manhoef recovered and threw a massive left hook that dropped Kato straight to the mat. Big John McCarthy took one look at the downed man’s eyes and waved off the contest. Melvin Manhoef added another highlight reel KO to his resume after dispatching Kato in the 1st round.
Manhoef is now 30-12-1 and Kato drops to 5-2.
