Melbourne, Australia: Robert Whittaker pressured Uriah Hall for three straight rounds and takes home a 30-27, 30-27, 29-28 unanimous decision victory.

UFC 193: Rousey vs. Holm was held on November 15, 2015 at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. Robert Whittaker vs. Uriah Hall took place on the main card which aired on PPV in the United States and BT Sport in the UK.

Robert Whittaker opened the fight very aggressively, tagging Hall with a good left hand and attempting to catch his opponent off guard. The Australian underdog utilized effective striking until about the three minute mark where he managed to score a takedown and threaten Hall with offensive submissions for the rest of the beginning frame.

Round two did not start much better for Uriah Hall, who had to deal with the early clinch pressure and foot stomps of Whittaker. The fight is stopped for an ‘accidental eye poke’ but in fact Whittaker punched with a closed fist. After resuming, Whittaker continued with his pressure but not without Hall landing some good kicks of his own.

Whittaker’s early aggression once again paid off in the third, as he tagged Uriah Hall consistently for the first two minutes. Hall, not admitting defeat, began to turn the tides with a crisp flying knee and clinch control against the cage. In the end however, it was too little too late and Whittaker emerged victorious with the decision.

Uriah Hall now drops to 12-6, with Robert Whittaker improving to 15-4.
