Brian Ortega vs Diego Brandao announced for UFC 195

The UFC announced today that a featherweight contest between Brian Ortega and Diego Brandao will take place at UFC 195 on January 3, 2015 in Las Vegas, NV.

Ortega (9-0, 1-0 UFC) will be returning to the Octagon for the first time since defeating Thiago Tavarres in June of this year.  The bout will be his third with the UFC, and his second since failing a drug test for PED’s in his debut.

Brandao (20-10, 6-3 MMA) is coming off of consecutive TKO victories, most recently upending Katsunori Kikuno last September.  The victory earned him a “Performance of the Night” bonus and separated him even further from his losses to Conor McGregor and Dustin Porier.

The main event of UFc 195 will see UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler defending his belt against the always dangerous Carlos “The Natural Born Killer” Condit, while Andrei Arlovski will take Stipe Miocic in the evening’s co-main event.
