Confidence is not something that BAMMA bantamweight champion Ed Arthur lacks and his latest comments seem to back up that claim. With his first World BAMMA Bantamweight title defence on the horizon, ‘King’ Arthur (6-0 MMA) has some strong words for his opponent in the night Shay Walsh.
I’m going to walk this guy down and break him. Something changed in my mind yesterday it’s time to hurt this guy!! No-one is taking my belt!!!

Still early in his career, Arthur’s brash demeanor has shot him straight to the top of the stacked BAMMA bantamweight division in just four fights in the promotion. Arthur won the title in his last appearance against Alan Philpott at BAMMA 20 in the same arena where he will make his first title defence in two weeks time. Following a tough first round for Arthur he came out strong in the second, taking Philpott down and finishing the fight via submission (rear-naked choke) to earn the BAMMA bantamweight strap.
Arthur’s opponent at BAMMA 23 is no walkover fight though as Shay Walsh (13-3 MMA) is on an impressive run of his own under the BAMMA promotion, currently riding a three fight winning streak which includes unanimous decision wins over James Saville and Paul Reed and most recently earning a third round TKO win over Gaz Pilot at BAMMA 21.
