Dublin, Ireland: Norman Parke was successful on his return to Dublin as he outworked and outpointed Reza Madadi
UFC Fight Night 76 was held on October 24, 2015 at 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. The whole event aired on UFC Fight Pass. Norman Parke vs. Reza Madadi took place on the main card.
Madadi wastes no time going for the clinch. Parke shakes it off and we’re back to the striking. Parke is mixing it up with a variety of kicks to the head and body, but not much landing so far. Another thwarted takedown attempt from Madadi. They trade positions against the cage and work for underhooks and head control. Great sprawl from Parke who’s defending the wrestling well. Parke takes the first round but neither guy in danger yet.
MMA Mad scores the first round 10-9 Parke
The pace seems to be turned way up to start the second. You get the sense that this one may not go the distance. Parke is really doing a great job sapping the endurance of Madadi with body kicks and excellent takedown defense. Norman Parke should take this one as well.
MMA Mad scores the second round 10-9 Parke (20-18 overall)
Madadi seems to be getting the best of the striking exchanges in the third. He’s landing flush with short hooks and uppercuts, but quickly returns to the clinch game. Every time he starts to make progress with his boxing, he returns to the clinch game; a mistake given the scorecards. Parke lands a takedown but doesn’t do much with it, as both guys look exhausted. Madadi takes the third with his striking, but the judges may score it for Parke with his takedown.
MMA Mad scores the third round 10-9 Madadi (29-28 Parke)
Official Result – Norman Parke def. Reza Madadi via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
