Most combat athletes aspire to earn near ‘Floyd Mayweather’ coin during their career and Conor McGregor is set to take a step closer to ‘Money’s’ level as he negotiates a new nine-figure deal with the UFC.
‘The Notorious’ one is set to headline UFC 194 which will be held on December 12, 2015 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
McGregor announced that he is in discussions with the UFC over a new nine figure contract on the MMA Hour on Monday.
‘I’m waiting on my next multi, nine-figure contract, which is en route,’ said McGregor. ‘I just let everyone up there know, I let the bosses know and everybody there know what I bring and my worth.
‘I’m still here the highest-paid. Let’s compare contracts. Because the contract that I’m talking now is nine figures, nine figures I’m talking. Nobody in the game has talked nine figures. That’s $100 million plus. That’s my contract, so, that’s where I’m at and I’ve done it the way I’ve done it.’
This comes following Ronda Rousey’s announcement on Ellen that she was the highest paid athlete under the ZUFFA banner. With this new deal being negotiated, it looks like McGregor will eclipse Rousey’s UFC money for the time being.
