Bringing specific training partners into your camp to prepare for a certain type of opponent is key to any success a fighter has inside the octagon. Bringing in a former world champion who has been inside the cage with your oponent for 25 minutes can only help with your prepearations and that is what former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis has offered Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone ahead of his camp ahead of his title fight with dos Anjos in December.
Rafael dos Anjos vs. Donald Cerrone will headline UFC on Fox 17 on December 19, 2015 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
Cerrone announced that Pettis offered to move to Albuquerque to assist him in his training camp on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast last night.
dos Anjos faced off with Cerrone previously at UFC Fight Night 27 on August 28, 2013, earning the victory via unanimous decision.
Following an impressive three fight winning streak, dos Anjos was granted a UFC lightweight title shot against Anthony Pettis at UFC 185 on March 14, 2015. dos Anjos would upset the champion in dominant fashion earning a unanimous 50-45 decision win.
