Paige VanZant vs. Joanne Calderwood To Headline Vegas Card On Dec. 10

Kick starting the busiest three days in UFC history, the December 10th Fight Night finally has it’s main event. Two of the most exciting fighters in the strawweight division collide as Paige VanZant and Joanne Calderwood square off in Vegas.

Ranked in #6 and #8, respectively, both women will have their sights set on climbing the rankings with a victory, and solidifying themselves as a true threat to the title.

PVZ is undefeated inside the Octagon, winning all three of her UFC bouts thus far. She’s fresh off an 3rd round armbar victory over Alex Chambers at UFC 191; the third finish in her last four fights.

Calderwood came up short against Maryna Moroz to begin the year, but bounced back with a brilliant performance against a game Cortney Casey in front of her home country of Scotland. The performance was enough to earn Fight of the Night honors for both women, and JoJo will be looking to ride that momentum into a victory over VanZant.

This bout marks the first main event for either fighter, a worthy match to begin the ramp up to UFC 194.

Also appearing on the card, Jim Miller vs. Michael Chiesa at lightweight, and Tim Means vs. John Howard at welterweight. Both matchups should be absolute wars, and could easily steal fight of the night, along with the main event.

Thursday, December 10th, is the first Vegas card of the weekend; set to take place in The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan. On December 11th, The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale, headlined by Frankie Edgar and Chad Mendes, is set to take place in the same arena. Then, on December 12th, UFC 194 is coming your way from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, featuring two title fights in Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor and Chris Weidman vs. Luke Rockhold.

This is going to be one heck of a week for fight fans. Better clear your schedules. You don’t want to miss any of these cards.
