Las Vegas, Nevada – Ross Pearson utilised impressive head movement and strong counter striking to earn a split decision against Paul Felder in Las Vegas.
UFC 191 took place tonight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ross Pearson vs. Paul Felder was the headliner on the preliminary card which aired on Fox Sports 1 in the United States and BT Sport in the UK.
Round 1 begins with a leg kick from Pearson trying to establish the range, Felder locks up a clink and Pearson reverses against the cage. Felder lands a hard knee and an elbow over the top. Pearson lands a nice takedown however Felder gets back to his feet and continues to land big knees and elbows in the clinch.
Round 2 starts again with another inside leg kick by Pearson followed by an nice outside leg kick. Pearson looking solid beginning round 2 landing a nice left hook but ate a heavy leg kick by Felder. Pearson working behind his jab in the centre of the octagon showing creative footwork and head movement to avoid Felder’s strikes. Felder lands a huge spinning back kick which lands flush to Pearson’s body. Pearson lands another strong left hook to end the round.
Round 3 begins with a touch of gloves and a left hook from Felder. Pearson seems to be looking for a hard counter left hook to finish the fight and he comes close early in the third landing a solid hook to the jaw of Felder. Felder walks through it and lands a nice knee to the body to counter. Pearson clearly looking the more technical striker in the third, whilst Felder is throwing every strike with anger which could lose him the fight. Pearson makes Felder miss with impressive head movement and Pearson follows with a hard leg kick.

MMA Mad scored the contest 29-28 in favour of Pearson.
With the win, Pearson extends his MMA record to 18-9-1 and Felder drops to 10-2.
