Las Vegas, Nevada – Corey Anderson overwhelms Jan Blachowicz, earns unanimous decision on the judges scorecards.
UFC 191 took place tonight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jan Blachowicz vs. Corey Anderson took place on the main card which aired on PPV in the United States and BT Sport in the UK.
Round 1 starts with Blachowicz checking an inside leg kick from Anderson and attempting a head kick which Anderson blocks. Wild punches from Blachowicz stuns Anderson followed by two huge body kicks. Blachowicz lands a double leg and lands in side control however Anderson gets straight back to his feet. Anderson working hard for a takedown against the cage and finally gets it, lands in Blachowicz full guard. Blachowicz looked to tie up and arm bar from the bottom however Anderson squirms free and both fighters are back on their feet to end the round.
Blachowicz looking tired to begin round 2 but still lands a hard body kick. Anderson lands a single leg takedown off a Blachowicz kick and lands in the guard and starts landing elbows from top position. Anderson is staying very active on top, making Blachowicz carry his weight and beating him up with elbow and punches to the body. Anderson was on top for the whole round and dominated Blachowicz, who seems gassed walking back to his corner.
Anderson looks for the takedown at the beginning of round 3 and gets it. Could be another long round for Blachowicz as Anderson steps over Blachowicz’s knee and into half guard. Anderson has Blachowicz’s arm tied down and is landing big elbows from half guard in a repeat from the second round.
With the win, Anderson takes his MMA record to 6-1 and Blachowicz drops to 18-5 MMA in his second unanimous decision loss in a row.
