Will this fight ever actually materialize? Booked twice before at UFC 184 and UFC on FOX 15 we now have a third date. Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza vs. Yoel Romero has now been booked for UFC 194.

UFC 194 will be held on December 12, 2015 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is expected to be headlined by a featherweight unification bout between champion Jose Aldo and interim champion Conor McGregor.

Souza (22-3, 1 NC) has won eight in a row spanning his time in Strikeforce and the UFC. Since his last loss to Luke Rockhold under the Strikeforce banner, ‘Jacare’ has looked unstoppable beating the likes of Tim Kennedy, Gegard Mousasi and Yushin Okami.

Romero (10-1) has won six straight, the latest a third-round TKO win over Lyoto Machida. Romero, 38, is a former Olympic silver medalist in wrestling. The only loss of Romero’s career came in 2011 his fifth career fight against Rafael Cavalcante in Strikefore.

This bout is widely regarded as a number one contendor fight for the middleweight title which will be contested as the co-main event on the same card as Chris Weidman tries to defend his title against Luke Rockhold.
