UFC Fight Night Night 72 will be held on July 18, 2015 at the The SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.
After previously hosting 15 events at various locations around the United Kingdom, the event will be the first that the promotion has hosted in Scotland.
The event will be headlined by a middleweight bout between veteran contender Michael Bisping and former title challenger Thales Leites.
Bisping (26-7 MMA) is widely regarded as one of the best UFC fighters never to compete for a UFC title. Since 2011 he has traded wins and loses and has not secured back to back wins inside the octagon since a TKO win over Jason Miller in December 2011. ‘The Count’ is coming off a big win at 186 against CB Dollaway. Following a first round where he was dropped, the Englishman rebounded in the second and third to secure a unanimous decision victory.
Leites (25-4 MMA) has had somewhat of a career resurgence as of late. Since being resigned to the UFC in 2013, the Brazilian has gone 5-0 and looked impressive in doing so. Two decision wins over Tom Watson and Ed Herman were followed by KO wins over Trevor Smith and Francis Carmont. His lastest victory came at UFC 183 earlier this year. In a ‘Fight of the Night’ performance, Leites submitted Tim Boetsch in the second round via arm triangle.
The co-main event features a lightweight battle between England’s Ross Pearson and US’s Evan Dunham.
